Eligibility: This is an open race. All boats are eligible. Yacht club membership is NOT a requirement for race entry. Non-HCYC member entrants and crews are welcome to the HCYC facility.
Rules: This race will be governed by the RACING RULES OF SAILING 2017-2020, this Notice of Race, and by the current version of the Canyon Lake Sailing Instructions dated February 17th, 2016, as modified for HCYC use.
Possible Classes: PHRF Non-Spinnaker, PHRF Spinnaker, Day Sailer Non-Spin, Day Sailer Spin, Portsmouth Non-Spinnaker, Portsmouth Spinnaker, and Non-competitive. Three (3) or more boats may constitute a fleet. Actual fleets will be set at skipper’s meeting. Fleets of less than 3 boats may be set at the discretion of Race Committee.
Races & Course: Courses for this event will be established suitable for the designated classes and consist of courses provided in the current Sailing Instructions.
Start / Finish: Start will be to windward. Finish will be to leeward.
Trophies: Trophies will be based upon registrations received per fleet. 3-4 boats = 1 trophy; 5-7 = 2; 8-9 = 3; 10-15 = 4. The minimum number of trophies per fleet is one (1).
Timetable: Registration begins Sept 24th, 2017. Late registration begins Thursday, 12:00 AM, Oct. 19th, 2017. End of Registration: 6:00 PM, Friday, Oct. 20th, 2017. Sailing Instructions, and course maps will be available at 10:00 am Skippers Meeting Saturday, Oct 21st at HCYC. Sailing Instructions are also available on-line at; www.hcyc-tx.com, under "Programs", "Sail Programs".
Start of Race: 12:00 PM, Saturday, Oct. 21st, 2017. Starting sequence begins at 11:55 AM. A sequential start will be used for multiple classes.
Results Presentation: All racers, crew, and their families are invited to the HCYC clubhouse following the race for BYOB refreshments. Please note the Hill Country Yacht Club does not serve beer or alcoholic beverages. All racers, crew, and other guests are welcome to BYOB.
Disclaimer of Liability: Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS #4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
Insurance: Each participating boat shall be insured at owner’s expense with valid third-party liability insurance.
Registration may be done online at through HCYC website Event Calendar. Payment may be made by selecting the "Register Now" button and completing the entry. Note that payment must be finalized within 30 minutes of pressing the "Complete Registration" button or your entry will be not be recorded. Registrations received after 12:00 AM, October 19th, 2017 will have a $5 late fee added to registration.
Competitive classes: $25.00 per boat. Non-Competitive class: $5.00 per boat.
Late Registrations will be accepted through 6:00 PM, Friday, Oct. 20th, 2017.
